According to the rumors the Official announcement date for Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat is set for October 28th but Google hasn't confirmed the date.

Turns out that was a lot of misplaced guilt! Over 1 billion Android devices have now been activated worldwide -- and 1.5M devices are lit up every day.”
