Showing posts with label Motorola. Show all posts

Last year, a company called Phonebloks released a video about a concept device which would revolutionize the tech industry once it got implemented. Being merely a concept, the project needed funds in order to become a reality and trust me when I say this, the project got immense response and Motorola started working closely with the person behind it on something we came to know as “Project Ara”.
Much like the video which Phonebloks released showing how an endoskeleton of a smartphone can be used to add the things that you like and remove the things which you don’t require or might not require at a particular time, Motorola released images of a beautiful looking device which followed the same idea. Even the people who are skeptical about this project should realize that a simple phone which, with upgrades can become the phone that you want instead of the phone which is almost perfect for you because it lacks in an area or two.
After the sale of Motorola to Lenovo, Google retained this project in order to work on it because they saw potential in it, so much so that they’ve said it will release sometime next year for only $50. We understand that the $50 price tag would only fetch us the basic phone which will be released and the upgrades will have to be bought from different vendors or maybe one “Blok” store which will have camera bloks, processor bloks, battery bloks etc. through which you can create a phone which suits your needs.
In a video, Project Ara team members talked about 3 versions of the device. One which will be the smallest with a 4 inch display, a medium sized device with a display ranging from 4.3 inches to 5 inches and then a phablet version which would have a screen of over 5 inches. The team also labelled the project as Google Ara instead of Project Ara so we know what it would be called later on.
This, to me at least, seems like something which will attract a lot of attention from all markets. Would other companies also adopt this concept or idea? We’ll just have to wait and find out. Till then, keep visiting!
When will my Smartphone get the Android KitKat update? This is the question that has been on the lips of millions of users all around the globe. It is because of the fact there is quite less information from the manufacturers or carriers about when exactly they will be rolling out the update. People from all over the world are eagerly waiting for the update to appear on their Smartphone. Although Google claimed that they have optimized Android 4.4 to work with ease on even Smartphones with 512 MB RAM, we haven’t heard any Smartphone getting the KitKat experience with 512 MB RAM. World's Biggest Event for Gadgets Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014's is about to start  pretty soon in Barcelona. No doubt the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be the main highlight of this year's MWC, but this ain't means that we will not see exciting devices from manufactures like Sony,LG,Huawei are also here and they are expected to hold press events.

Samsung at MWC 2014

‘Unpacked 5’ event starts on February 24th at 11am PST | 2pm EST | 8pm CET Barcelona time

According to the latest reports and rumors Samsung is exptected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S5, which will be at least equipped with a 1080p display and maybe a fingerprint scanner but we are pretty sure there will be no fancy eye scanner on the Samsung Galaxy S5. But whatever is will be considerable upgrade over the current flagship Samsung Galaxy S4.

Speaking about the Samsung's skin which is called "Touchwiz" is expected to have a complete overhaul. Currently the touchwiz running on Samsung Galaxy S4 is a pretty heavy skin running on top of android, we expecting the new Samsung touchwiz will be lighter then ever and it will have some kinda flat looking icons. Just like what HTC did with it's HTC Sense.

Samsung is also expected to announce a new smartwatch with a more good looking and sleeker design, which will probably be called the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2. The Samsung's first smartwatch the Samsung Galaxy Gear was many things but it wasn't affordable and not very pleasurable to use, at least to most of the consumers. What are we expecting about the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2? Samsung actually acknowledge itself that the original Samsung Galaxy Gear has a bulkier design, so we pretty sure that the new one will have a slimmer and lighter design. And the Samsung Galaxy 2 will be priced at $200 or less which make it more appealing.

LG at MWC 2014

Sometimes LG reveals the specifications of it's upcoming devices ahead of their worldwide launches. That's what happened recently with the LG G Pro 2, which is probably an over sized Note 3. Although it is not a surprise that MWC 2014 will be first opportunity to hold the LG G Pro 2 in your hands, so we are expecting a lot of hands-on and comparison videos. We are also excited to see how the Smart Knock unlock feature works on the LG G Pro 2

And we are also looking forward to LG new budget L series III of budget smartphones, which are with good specs, nice design and affordable price. We are hoping for some surprises. But who knows LG might deliver some surprises at MWC 2014.

Sony at MWC 2014

Sony launched it's current flag last year in September at IFA the Sony Xperia Z1. Meanwhile earlier this year Sony has also sold it's computer division to focus more on Tablets and Smartphones, So we think there actually room for a new flagship. According to the rumors it's code name is "Sirius" and it will probably be called the Sony Xperia Z2, and it will feature a 5.2" display with 4K Ultra HD Video recording. The Sony Xperia Z2 will have a slightly redesigned Sony Xperia Z design and a little bit tweaked skin running Android 4.4 Kitkat

There are also rumors going on about a new 10" tablet from Sony the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2. The Ultra Slim Xperia Tablet Z2 will be the refresh of the last year's Sony Xperia Tablet Z. So we are looking forward to see what Sony will unveil at MWC 2014.

Huawei at MWC 2014

The chinese manufacture Huawei is teasing something juciy for MWC. After the last year's Huawei Ascend P6, Huawei will be releasing at least three new gadgets at MWC. Huawei will introduce a smartphone, a tablet and a smartwatch. There are no further details available for Huawei for now. But we all we know for now is that there will not be the successor of Huawei Ascend P6 because Huawei has already planned a separate event for that.

Nokia at MWC - Nokia's first Android

Nokia is exptected to launched the Nokia X or Nokia Normady whatever you wanna call it. It may finally go official at MWC. This will be Nokia's first smartphone powering Android. But it may disappoint because it will not have the top notch hardware because Nokia is planning to make it a affordable phone maybe a replacement for it's Asha feature phones series.

HTC and Motorola at MWC 2014

HTC Doesn't have a big event planned for MWC but the rumors suggest that HTC will introduce the HTC Desire 8 next week at MWC or maybe a simple press release. But we will probably get a chance to see the HTC Desire 8 as soon as next week.

Motorola has already sent invitations for a event which is on Tuesday 25th February. Motorola probably got some new devices in the pipeline but at the moment there are no leaks or rumors available. But we all heard from the C.E.O of Motorola about a $50 very affordable smartphone, we might see that here at MWC 2014.

But it could also be keynote services and future plans instead of an device launch event. Only times will tell.

If you love the unique wooden Moto X units,Than just don't worry because Motorola haven't still stopped manufacturing them. Motorola had just delayed the wooden Moto X.The reliable leakster @evleaks is claiming that Motorola will release the Moto X with wooden backs in winter. With the price of 50$ bucks more. There is still no official word from Motorola on the Moto X with wooden backs are coming or not. Probably winter is not still here yet, so @evleaks could be right. The wooden Moto X could be just a few months away from the release.Motorola also told that they are not gonna release the Moto X outside US.

@evleaks also showed the wooden backs of Moto X. The wooden Moto X would be available sometime in the holiday season, and it would be available at MotoMaker site and the name of the Moto X with four different wooden backs would be teak, rosewood, bamboo and ebony.

Most of us know that Motorola is making an affordable version of the Motorola Moto X which probably would be called Motorola DVX. Motorola would be launching the device as soon as October. The rumored price of the Motorola DVX is somewhere around $150-$250 bucks which seems reasonable for a low-cost verison of the Motorola Moto X.

The launch date is set for October. It's design should be similar to the Moto X but is would be cheaper looking version Moto X.The Motorola DVX won't feature same high customization options like it's bigger brother the Motorola Moto X.But it will probably come with interchangeable backplates. We have seen the backplates in four colors. And The colors are Pink,White,Black and Green. You can see them in the images posted below.

An incomplete version of Android 4.3 has been leaked for the Motorola Moto X. It has been posted on XDA Developer Forum, you shouldn't install this version of the firmware unless you know what are you doing. Unlocking the bootloader on the Motorola Moto X, even with help of Motorola, can cause voiding of your warranty and the bricking of your Moto X. it is expected that the Moto X will be closer to the top of the list of released Android models receiving an update to Android 4.3 According to the folks who have loaded the new firmware on their Moto X, this update brings some improvements to the camera department. Other new features of the update are very far from final release and are full of bugs.

The Motorola Moto X was launched on August 23rd with Android 4.2.2 pre installed.
