Samsung acknowledges that locking their phone was a bad decision

Samsung surprised all of us by locking the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 units to America and Europe. People started complaining that why they can't use their Note 3 outside those region than the company said that once you activated it with local sim-card you can use another as well, trying to prevent gray market trade with the phones

The region lock was good or bad though many people posted on a number of threads that they can't use their Note 3 abroad even after they activated it with the regional sim-card.Samsung has listened to their customers and said that they will find a better way. But the current Samsung Galaxy Note 3 units will remain locked for now. You can read Samsung's statement below.

Statement on "Regional Lock" topic in current Samsung products
We assure that the pleasant and smooth user experience of our customers with Samsung products is a top priority for us. Of course, we take customer feedback to heart.

The fact that the regional SIM lock function has fueled uncertainty to this extent, we have not expected. Therefore, we have to collect and evaluated the many questions from the last days. The regional SIM lock feature on the latest Samsung products will remain in place. We are currently examining intensively, however, how to optimize processes and products to satisfy our customers can simplify.

To answer all the questions satisfactorily, we can still, however, need some time. Hitherto, for users to disable the problems of regional
SIM lock function, you can directly contact the customer service. This supports the activation process so that customers use their device without restrictions.
