Yesterday, Nokia finally revealed three members of the highly anticipated X Family of Smartphones. Yes, this is the same X Smartphone that was rumored before to be running on Android. The X family is indeed running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but a highly customized one and without any Google services. The X family has a specially designed Nokia app store from where the users will download the apps. Definitely, it will take time to port the apps to the platform, but according to Nokia, 75 percent of all the apps are currently compatible with the Nokia X and other members of the X family of Smartphones.

 While the rest of the 25 percent apps will be up and running soon and for that Nokia is encouraging the developers to submit the .apk file to the Nokia Store. There is also a dedicated SDK and other porting tools to make the incompatible apps compatible for the platform. So, you can make your app compatible with the X phone yourself or let Nokia do that for you. Nokia accepts that before the other 25 percent apps go live in the store, they need a little retouch while they also mentioned that the SDK will convert the incompatible apps to compatible ones in just a matter of a few hours.

 If you are a developer and you are trying to find out if your app is compatible for the X Smartphone then you can use Nokia’s tool right here to test andport it to Nokia X. The deal looks quite simple and easy and even Nokia says it is. It seems like the Nokia is up for improving the whole Android experience for users in the emerging markets and its all happening. Nokia X will soon be hitting markets and I can bet it will be an amazing ride.
A few days ago we told you about the acquisition of WhatsApp for around $19 billion by Facebook. It was no less than a shock when the news arrived, because there was no information leaked and it all happened at once nobody seen that coming. It is said that Initially Google offered $10 Billion to buy WhatsApp, which WhatsApp turned and this is not all of it.

According to a report, Google was willing to beat the Facebook’s offer of $19 billion, but lacked in commitment to do so. Apparently, Google wasn’t really interested in buying Whatsapp and neither wanted Facebook own it. It is quite unclear at this moment that why Google really wanted to keep the popular IM service away from Facebook’s reach. It is also being reported that CEO Google, Larry Page, talked to Whatsapp people and nearly convinced them to keep going independently just like they are going at this moment, just to keep them away from Facebook. Now, obviously, if Google talked to Whatsapp and was willing to beat the Facebook’s offer just to not let it be called as part of the largest social network then it must be something that forced them to do so.

It is reported that Whatsapp had a brief talk with Google after Facebook put their offer on the table, where Google seemed a bit less excited than Facebook that actually led Whatsapp to make a decision in favor of Facebook. But as the report suggests, Google was willing to pay more than what Facebook offered to Whatsapp and it was lack of enthusiasm that didn’t allow them to snatch the deal. It is indeed surprising to know that Google and Facebook were both running to acquire Whatsapp but in the end it was Facebook that finally had it for $19 billion, comprising of $12 billion in Facebook shares, $4 billion in cash and another $3 billion in restricted stock payments.
Facebook is on it's way to buy the world's fastest growing mobile messaging service, WhatsApp. Facebook announced this yesterday on their blog, that Facebook will be paying WhatsApp $12 Billion in shares, $4 Billion in cash and $3 Billion in Restricted Stock Units to the employees of WhatsApp four year after this deal has been finalized.

On the completion of the deal no changes will be made on WhatsApp it will work the way as it does now.

The C.E.O of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg explained that how the both companies will work in future, in a post from his Facebook profile.

This is Facebook’s largest acquisition ever. We think that it’ll allow Facebook to penetrate the international markets even more successfully. With some  integration between the two platforms in the future, Facebook will also be able to access the much more active user base of WhatsApp and add to the user base of its own services.
The engineer who worked at Apple's Siri project is now working on "SAMI", Samsung's virtual assistant for it's smart devices. It is said that SAMI would be beyond Apple's Siri. Luc Julia who worked at Apple's Siri project left Apple after working for 10 month, than he headed to Korea, Luc Julia is now the Vice President at Samsung's Innovation Labs where he is working on SAMI (Samsung Architecture for Multimodal Interactions).

Luc Julia recently demonstrated SAMI, he put on a Fitbit heart monitor then weighed himself by using a scale. He asked some questions like "SAMI, how am i doing?" it is said that SAMI would be able to answer that you gotta train harder or take a break.

It would be able to connect with multiple devices. SAMI is in early development stages, it would take three to five years to make it ready for everyone.
