From the day reports confirmed that Nokia X, the company’s first Android powered device, will become a reality there were other concerns attached to the cons of the smartphone. One of the major concerns was that the phone would not have the Google Play Store from which all Android users download their favourite applications or whatever they want to try but, fortunately Nokia has done something about that bit.

First of all, it’s not like Nokia X won’t have any Android applications as, just like Jolla, the phone will have the Yandex App Store. This store has over 85000 Android applications and has all the best ones listed so you won’t have to worry about BBM, Vine, Facebook, Twitter, most of your favourite games and a lot of others not being available for you after purchasing the smartphone.
Apart from that, Nokia is claiming that 75% of all Android applications will be compatible with the phone and the ones which aren’t only need a retouch before they can also be used with the phone. This is probably due to the user interface of the phone and all the system tweaks which make it worlds a part from other Android phones due to it being based heavily on gestures.

Here’s a little bit about the gestures and actions which work with the phone:
Anyway, users can submit applications to check their compatibility as well. So, it’s probably just a matter of time till users get to enjoy all Android applications on the Nokia X. To read more about all the gestures, click here. Do let us know your thoughts and keep visiting!

Yesterday, Nokia finally revealed three members of the highly anticipated X Family of Smartphones. Yes, this is the same X Smartphone that was rumored before to be running on Android. The X family is indeed running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but a highly customized one and without any Google services. The X family has a specially designed Nokia app store from where the users will download the apps. Definitely, it will take time to port the apps to the platform, but according to Nokia, 75 percent of all the apps are currently compatible with the Nokia X and other members of the X family of Smartphones.

While the rest of the 25 percent apps will be up and running soon and for that Nokia is encouraging the developers to submit the .apk file to the Nokia Store. There is also a dedicated SDK and other porting tools to make the incompatible apps compatible for the platform. So, you can make your app compatible with the X phone yourself or let Nokia do that for you. Nokia accepts that before the other 25 percent apps go live in the store, they need a little retouch while they also mentioned that the SDK will convert the incompatible apps to compatible ones in just a matter of a few hours.

If you are a developer and you are trying to find out if your app is compatible for the X Smartphone then you can use Nokia’s tool right here to test andport it to Nokia X. The deal looks quite simple and easy and even Nokia says it is. It seems like the Nokia is up for improving the whole Android experience for users in the emerging markets and its all happening. Nokia X will soon be hitting markets and I can bet it will be an amazing ride.

Nokia has finally put the rumors to an end by unveiling the Nokia X Family at the MWC an hour ago. After all the unofficial news and rumors, it was finally good to see Nokia making a move to Android Open Source Program (AOSP). This means that the Nokia X family will not actually be an Android powered Smartphones but will be able to run the Android compatible apps. A couple of days ago, we updated you on the rumor stating that Nokia will unveil not one but three Android powered Smartphones. Although the third one was least expected, Nokia still managed to introduce the whole X Smartphone lineup with three devices. While unveiling the X Family, Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop said “The Nokia X (family) is all about giving you access to the world of Android apps.”

I am sure all the Nokia fans around the country have long waited for this moment to actually get the perfect combination, Nokia + Android, or at least the pleasure of experiencing Android apps on Nokia. Well, if Nokia would have decided to go for this a couple of years ago then things would have been different for them. Anyway, let’s just not go there and stick to the joy and excitement part.
One of the two devices of the X family, Nokia X and X+, have the same specs apart from the internal storage and memory featuring a 1 GHz dual core processor, 4 inch display and a 3 MP rear camera and is priced at only €89 and €99 respectively. Now the price tag is something that encourages me to experience it and I am sure it does to you as well. Talking about the Nokia XL, which is a rather high end device, features a huge 5 inch display and comes with a plastic body. Being the high end Smartphone, it comes with a 5 MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 2 MP front camera to entertain video calls. If this has excited you much then the price tag will definitely lure to take it home as soon as possible. The recently unveiled Nokia XL is priced at a mere €109, and you don’t get a high end device at such a price range, other than Chinese ones.
The UI is quite fluid and looks more like Windows tiles and by that look, anybody can easily say that this is a hugely customized version of Android. Surprisingly, it doesn’t have a Google PlayStore app instead it will have a customized Nokia app store that will have the apps you need and if it doesn’t, it shall have the link to download it. There are other ways of installing the apps that are not present like downloading the .apk file and copying it on your SD card and simply install it. So, as far as experiencing Android apps are concerned, you will never be left behind. The Nokia X family also comes with a 1 month Skype premium subscription and a whopping 10 GB of cloud storage on OneDrive, a new name for Microsoft’s SkyDrive. It is definitely not a bad deal at all at the price range. The Nokia X family goes on sale in the coming few weeks with more members of the X family to arrive as the year goes on.

We have been hearing rumors about the Nokia X or Normady which would be running Android. Rumors are that the Nokia X will be a budget Android Smartphone instead of a Flagship. The leaked specs of the device also hint that the device will be a budget Android Smartphone. The rumored specs are 1 GHz Dual Core Processor, 512 MB of Ram, 4GB of Internal Storage, 4" Display with a price tag of around $100. There rumors were relating that the phone will be a disappointment with these specs, but the according to the recent report, Nokia is working on three Android Smartphones instead of One.

If you are a Nokia and Android fan then this news is good for you. The report also claims that apart from the budget Nokia X, there will be a high end model as. Nokia haven't decided a name for the high end model but it will sport top notch specs for sure.

Nokia is rumored to unveil the Nokia X at MWC but we don't expect the other two high end models as well just now. But finally Nokia will be launching them in a event in May.
