When will my Smartphone get the Android KitKat update? This is the question that has been on the lips of millions of users all around the globe. It is because of the fact there is quite less information from the manufacturers or carriers about when exactly they will be rolling out the update. People from all over the world are eagerly waiting for the update to appear on their Smartphone. Although Google claimed that they have optimized Android 4.4 to work with ease on even Smartphones with 512 MB RAM, we haven’t heard any Smartphone getting the KitKat experience with 512 MB RAM. It is because manufacturers are mostly busy updating all of their flagships first, which most manufacturers haven’t done yet.

Is this Nexus 8?

Google is known to host I/O Conference in June to announce its future plans; at least that’s how it has been for the past couple of years. For that very reason, people all around the globe bookmark the event and wait eagerly to get the first look of the gadgets that Google will unleash. However, it seems like Google may have some other plans this year for the annual I/O Conference. The reason behind saying that is the report, which claims that the search giant will not reveal the new version of the Android OS in June at I/O Conference, instead will be demonstrating some new Google services.

What’s interesting about this report is the source of this rumor is allegedly from Google’s offices in Dublin who also happened to have also heard something about Nexus 8 tablets. The source claims that he heard his superiors talking about the Nexus 8 tablet release and will be released alongside the new version of Android. If that is to be believed, the Nexus 8 tablet and the Android 4.5 will be announced in July sometime and not in June.

Having Factory Image available will allow you to do experiments and customizing your device without having the fear of bricking your device.And once you have successfully flashed your device with the proper Factory Image, Google will ask you to lock your bootloader for some safety reasons.

Three new Nexus 5 ads focused on the Camera features of the Nexus 5 are posted on Youtube, showing different camera features of the Nexus 5 like the HDR+, Photo Sphere and Auto Awesome. Each commercial is just 15 seconds long, but it shows the camera features in these video clips. It also shows how does the front facing camera looks on the latest version of Android.

Auto Awesome feature combines all still images into a short animated video, HDR+ takes multiple exposures, and fuses them together into one perfectly exposed photo, and the Photo Sphere lets you take a 360 degree Panoramic Photo.

The Google's flagship the Nexus 5 has been tortured by some folks at Android Authority, Nexus 5 has been dropped from the front, back and bottom, The Gorilla Glass protected display will remain protected or will shatter into pieces? Will it survive?

We were waiting for a long time to see what score the Nexus 5 will get in the repairability test. iFixit did the teardown treatment of the Nexus 5. And the Nexus 5 scored well in the test.


Nexus 5 Teardown

Google recently introduced the 5th generation of the Nexus line which is called the Google Nexus 5. We have seen five Nexus Smartphone in just about four years. The first Nexus the Nexus One was made by HTC in January 2010. The Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus were made by Samsung. And LG got the opportunity of making two Nexus Smartphone, the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 were made by LG.

You will notice that Google improved everything with every Nexus phone.You can also the changes Google made in the User Interface from Android 2.1 Eclair to the Android 4.4 KitKat. The major change was happened with the Galaxy Nexus because Google introduced software buttons instead of the hardware ones and the screen size was also bumped from 4.0" to 4.7", it also got a HD Screen and some major UI changes.

From the humble beginning of Android, who would have think that today it would cater more than a billion smartphones worldwide. Perhaps, it is the widely used mobile operating system today. So now, the big question will be;  Who can get it and  when will you get it. You'd probably thinking that not of all Android users can benefit this update due to some Hardware limitations. Like what happened to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus who is not eligible for this upgrade. But, according to Google, even Droids with 512MB of RAM (the widely used RAM for android smartphones all over the world) can still enjoy the new update. It is beacuse of the advanced mobile optimization that will enable droids of this class to experience full Android experience regardless of the low memory count. 

Based on a source (PhoneArena). The first batch of smartphones who will be receiving the update came from the top class. Ofcourse, Google products like the Nexus 4, 7 and 10 will be the first of the line. Google Edition smartphones will also be prioritize with the update.

As for Samsung as the largest manufacturer of Android devices  announced only one device, plans for upgrade to the rest of their flagship and mid range phones should be observed this coming time.  We are  pretty sure also that there are working for it now.

And also for the other Phone Manufacturer who haven't announced yet the interest of upgrading their Devices. We should expect that that anytime soon Android 4.4 will be widely available to all compatible devices of all manufacturers all over the world. So stay tune for more of it.

With the launch of Google's newest flagship smartphone which is the Nexus 5 with a lot of new features including Google's newest Android 4.4 KitKat, better camera and a lot of hardware improvements. Also accompanied with the improved and re-structured form of its popular Android.com. This week would probably a busy week for Team Google.

Despite of the Google's achievements and innovations, there is still lacking. Something that are yet to unveil, if when and what,  that we don't know. We'll just keep updating until everything will be showed off. 




In connection with the new and improved Android.com website comes a lot of new user interface that visitors will be happy about it. Surprisingly, on the Apps and Entertainment section of the re-designed android site comes a mystery gadget that is now getting its popularity on some tech blogs and forums. As you can see on the picture that was taken on Android's website, a girl is holding a tablet that is far different from Nexus 7 (2013). Its bezels are a lot thinner than the N7 and it has Kitkat on it pre-installed (because of the new status bar icons). Its screen size also is near to 8 inches, just near from the N7's 7 inches. Could it be the Nexus 8? we have no idea that is it a Nexus 8 or something

With the evidences we've gathered. There are possible reasons that could lead the mystery device as the new Nexus 8 and there are also contradicting facts that would falsify the said claim. First of all, Google didn't announce nor report some improvements to their Nexus 10 that could be the reason to be the launch of the Nexus 8. It could be that Google is trying to replace the Nexus 10 with 8. Secondly, this wasn't the first time that Google showed off their unannounced device to their promotional strategy. This happened to Nexus 5 when it showed off on a video about a KitKat statue when people was taking video on it and suddenly a man was recognized on holding a smartphone that has the nexus logo at the back. At that time, there weren't any nexus product with that size so it was evident that it will be the Nexus 5. And yes it is.

Lastly, it is also possible that it was a Google's mistake. Perhaps, that mystery tablet would have been a Nexus 7 after all. Its just that the viewing angles weren't that great so speculations were made about it. To whether that mysterious tablet be Google's next tablet or is just some Nexus 7 with improved editing. That we don't know. We only know that sooner or later, this innovation will then be revealed.

Android 4.4 KitKat brings support for low end devices but not for old devices like the Galaxy Nexus. New low end devices will get the new version of Android 4.4 KitKat. Google has confirmed that the Galaxy Nexus will not get the latest version of the platform. When Google announced the Android 4.4 KitKat we also didn't see the Galaxy Nexus in the list.

It is very interesting because Galaxy Nexus is fully capable of running Android 4.4 KitKat. But we think that the two year old Nexus falls outside of the Google's 18 months software supports policy, As the Google support page also says this. It is quite annoying because Android 4.4 KitKat was supposed to run on older device too but we think Google don't wanna run Android 4.4 on older device, but we are pretty sure that new low-end device will run Android 4.4 KitKat. 

You may want to look into grabbing the new Nexus 5, before they all are gone.

Google has yesterday announced the Nexus 5. The most leaked smartphone in the history is finally here. Nexus 5 has top notch specs. And a great OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) Camera for brilliant performance.

Design

The Nexus design is not the best but it is quite impressive, it looks similar to Google's 7" inch tablet the Nexus 7 (2013). It made of poly-carbonate plastic with matte finish instead of glass what we seen in the previous Nexus the Nexus 4. But it would not disappoint you.It is light weight and thin. It weighs around 130g and about 8.5mm thick. It not the thinnest and not the lightest phone but it still does the job.

It comes in two colors black and white. The white Nexus 5 has black front with white back. There is a large camera eye just above the vertical Nexus logo. The power button is on the right side of the phone and the volume rockers are on the left side of the phone. The speakers are placed on the front of the device just like the HTC One but not two speakers.

Display

The Nexus has very sharp 5" inch full HD display. It has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with the pixel density of 445 ppi. 

The display uses in-cell touch Google's famous display technology, which means there is no gap between the display and the touch, which make the touch more accurate and responsive.

Processor and Ram

As we told you the Nexus 5 got top notch specs. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor is powering the device. The most fastest and latest processor from Qualcomm. It has 2GB of Ram.

Storage

The Nexus 5 comes with two storage options 16GB and 32GB. There is no micro-sd card slot for storage expansion because Google hates mico-sd card slots. Google prefers Cloud backup instead of micro-sd card.




Camera

The Google Nexus 5 comes with an 8mp (Mega Pixels) Camera with a single LED flash, same pixel size as the previous Nexus. But now the Camera is made by Sony, and it has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which prevent photos from getting burred and create great blur free photos.It features a HDR+ mode will enhance the camera performance even more. It also has an 1.3mp (Mega Pixels) Front facing Camera, which also capture videos in 720 HD. The front camera is enough for video chats.

The new version of Android debuted with the Nexus 5. The fastest Android version ever,also brings some new camera features like auto-awesome feature and many other. It is not very hard to admit that the launch of Nexus 5 is very near. And a lot of rumors are coming, as today we have a lot of pictures of Nexus 5 unboxing and hands-on etc. A newer version of Android which would be called Android 4.4 KitKat will debut with the device.

The Nexus 5 is gonna have a Nexus 7 like design and speaking about the camera the megapixels will remain the same 8 Megapixels but this time it will have a Sony OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) Camera, which will prevent photos from getting blurred. A 2.3 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor with 2GB of Ram will be under the hood. The user which got a chance to use the proto-type said that the device feels great in hands.

We are getting a lot of rumors about the Nexus 5 which has not been announced. There is no real news from Google about the Next generation Nexus which would probably be called Google Nexus 5.But according to the latest reports and rumors it was said that Nexus 5 is gonna announce on October 31 which is today.

Yesterday, @evleaks the most trusted leaker tweeted on twitter that there would a Nexus 5 model for Sprint. They also tweeted a side picture of the Nexus 5 for Sprint, But there you can't see any Sprint branding on the picture which they posted because it was a side picture of the Nexus 5.

Now a tipster posted some new images of the Nexus 5 made for Sprint. But there is also no visible Sprint branding on the Nexus 5 in these images. There is also a photo of the Nexus 5 with a deck of cards. You can see the white version of Nexus 5 for Sprint below.





So after all we will probably see a Nexus 5 model for Sprint and also for T-Mobile,AT&T. But there is no news about the Nexus 5 for Verizon probably you might not see Nexus 5 for Verizon as we told you yesterday Verizon is not a great partner of Google for it's Nexus devices. According to the latest rumours the release date is set for November 1st but it is not confirmed by Google.

Some leaks before showed two models of the Google Nexus 5 which passed the FCC. One was the cdma model which we assumed that it would be the Nexus 5 for Sprint,Because Google no more trusts on Verizon and Sprint has been a good parter of Nexus devices.

The most trusted leaker @evleaks just posted that the Nexus 5 indeed be coming to Sprint. @evleaks also posted an image. The Image shows nothing new but it shows the Nexus 5 from a new angle.

@evleaks also claimed that Google is gonna release the Nexus 5 on Friday which is 1st November.But it is not officially confirmed by Google.

Google hasn't announced the Google Nexus 5, but we have got some new pictures from Canada. Someone took pictures of Nexus 5 boxes at LG distribution center in Canada.It also proves that the Nexus 5 is ready to ship out to carrier and retailers.

These new photos from user "Junior Mint" on a NeoGAF message board show what appears to be a number of pallets of boxes filled with Nexus 5 handsets. We can say that all those boxes would be probably of Nexus 5 because there just one visible box of Nexus 5 while others are boxes are packed.
So we can't really confirm that the Boxes in the photos are real Nexus 5 Boxes. Take a look at the photos below.

A tweet from a reliable source reveals the press render of the Google Nexus 5.We should say the most anticipated handset will probably be unveiled somewhere by the end of this month.As we told you Google has sent invitation for a event on Friday but it has nothing to do with the Nexus 5 or Android 4.4 KitKat.

Yesterday, Nexus 5 was leaked on the Google Play Store.There would be another color available for the Nexus 5,that color probably will be white. Today we got some photos showing the retail box of the Nexus 5 and also Nexus 5 photos in white and black color.

Before this news it was rumored that Google Nexus 5 will also feature Battery options with the Storage options. But now the news is pretty different, Nexus 5 will come in two storage option 16GB and 32GB with the price tag of 350$ probably for 32GB storage variant. No Micro SD Card for expansion like what you get with a Nexus Phone.

And what we heard before was both 16GB and 32GB variants of Nexus 5 will come with different battery capacities like 2300 mAh for 16GB variant and 3000 mAh for the 32GB variant. It sound more logical now that both 16GB and 32GB variants will come with 2300 mAh Battery.

Speaking about the release date it is 99% confirmed that it is by the end of this month probably the rumored date which is October 28th, the 1% is for if something kind of issues came in front of the announcement than it can be delayed to the next month.
