Is this Nexus 8?

Google is known to host I/O Conference in June to announce its future plans; at least that’s how it has been for the past couple of years. For that very reason, people all around the globe bookmark the event and wait eagerly to get the first look of the gadgets that Google will unleash. However, it seems like Google may have some other plans this year for the annual I/O Conference. The reason behind saying that is the report, which claims that the search giant will not reveal the new version of the Android OS in June at I/O Conference, instead will be demonstrating some new Google services.

What’s interesting about this report is the source of this rumor is allegedly from Google’s offices in Dublin who also happened to have also heard something about Nexus 8 tablets. The source claims that he heard his superiors talking about the Nexus 8 tablet release and will be released alongside the new version of Android. If that is to be believed, the Nexus 8 tablet and the Android 4.5 will be announced in July sometime and not in June.

We already heard a few weeks back that Google is working the Android 4.4.1 update,The first update to KitKat. While majority of users are still one or two versions behind KitKat. It was said that the update will include a fix for the Nexus 10 which has issues showing the translucent bars. Now the latest reports are saying that the Android 4.4.1 KitKat update will fix some bugs of the Nexus 5 including the audio issues. 

New sever logs are showing that Google is testing the Android 4.4.1 update. Sever logs are also showing Android 4.4.1 KitKat running on Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7, Nexus 10 is not present there. While HTC One ROM Developer LLabTooFeR has said on twitter that "HTC One GE will get 4.4.1 (KOT49E) in near future". We have no clue right now that what to expect from the update.

The owners of HTC One Google Play Edition have started receiving a 300MB Android 4.4 KitKat update via OTA according to some sources. Stock Android has it's own perks. HTC wanted to deliver the update as soon as possible. The update doesn't have Google Experience Launcher so it means there will no separate page for Google Now on the Homescreen.

Google Play Edition Smartphones is a fairly new term which means that some certain smartphones running Stock Android out of the box as the way Google wanted Android running on Android Phones, and they are sold by Google, fully unlocked and contract free.

HTC America Tweeted on Friday that HTC has sent Android 4.4 KitKat code to Google for the HTC One Google Play Edition. HTC America president Jason Mackenzie said Android 4.4 KitKat would be on the phone in just 15 days. HTC One Google Play Edition receives Android Updates faster than any other HTC One variant. Now it depends on Google how fast Google will release the update. HTC wanted to provide the update within 15 days.

On the last day of October a report said that HTC One Google Play Edition will get Android 4.4 KitKat update in 15 days the same report also stated that HTC One Google Play Edition will get the update in 30 days, and carrier branded HTC One will receive the update in 90 days. We are not sure exactly when the HTC One Developer Edition is gonna get the update because 15 days has been passed still no details on the Android 4.4 KitKat update. HTC doesn't have a good reputation in updating their devices. We should better wait and see what happens next.

Google recently introduced the 5th generation of the Nexus line which is called the Google Nexus 5. We have seen five Nexus Smartphone in just about four years. The first Nexus the Nexus One was made by HTC in January 2010. The Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus were made by Samsung. And LG got the opportunity of making two Nexus Smartphone, the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 were made by LG.

You will notice that Google improved everything with every Nexus phone.You can also the changes Google made in the User Interface from Android 2.1 Eclair to the Android 4.4 KitKat. The major change was happened with the Galaxy Nexus because Google introduced software buttons instead of the hardware ones and the screen size was also bumped from 4.0" to 4.7", it also got a HD Screen and some major UI changes.

In an interview with BBC Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak told that "I wish to God that Apple and Google were partners in the future." He is also quite impressed with Android human speech recognition software he also said that i find it more accurate than Apple's Siri

From the humble beginning of Android, who would have think that today it would cater more than a billion smartphones worldwide. Perhaps, it is the widely used mobile operating system today. No doubt for that, with Android's flexibility that can almost run any program and widgets. It would be very easy to mobile developers to construct and innovate their new apps and programs. It's availability also contributes as almost everyone can have android for its approachable acquisition. 


With the release of Google's newest OS, the Android4.4 Kitkat comes a wide range of new features. Many were excited about it. Ofcourse, new update means new set of exciting features. So now, the big question will be;  Who can get it and  when will you get it. You'd probably thinking that not of all Android users can benefit this update due to some Hardware limitations. Like what happened to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus who is not eligible for this upgrade. But, according to Google, even Droids with 512MB of RAM (the widely used RAM for android smartphones all over the world) can still enjoy the new update. It is beacuse of the advanced mobile optimization that will enable droids of this class to experience full Android experience regardless of the low memory count. 

Based on a source (PhoneArena). The first batch of smartphones who will be receiving the update came from the top class. Ofcourse, Google products like the Nexus 4, 7 and 10 will be the first of the line. Google Edition smartphones will also be prioritize with the update.

As for Samsung as the largest manufacturer of Android devices  announced only one device, plans for upgrade to the rest of their flagship and mid range phones should be observed this coming time.  We are  pretty sure also that there are working for it now.

And also for the other Phone Manufacturer who haven't announced yet the interest of upgrading their Devices. We should expect that that anytime soon Android 4.4 will be widely available to all compatible devices of all manufacturers all over the world. So stay tune for more of it.

Google has yesterday announced the Nexus 5. The most leaked smartphone in the history is finally here. Nexus 5 has top notch specs. And a great OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) Camera for brilliant performance.

Design

The Nexus design is not the best but it is quite impressive, it looks similar to Google's 7" inch tablet the Nexus 7 (2013). It made of poly-carbonate plastic with matte finish instead of glass what we seen in the previous Nexus the Nexus 4. But it would not disappoint you.It is light weight and thin. It weighs around 130g and about 8.5mm thick. It not the thinnest and not the lightest phone but it still does the job.

It comes in two colors black and white. The white Nexus 5 has black front with white back. There is a large camera eye just above the vertical Nexus logo. The power button is on the right side of the phone and the volume rockers are on the left side of the phone. The speakers are placed on the front of the device just like the HTC One but not two speakers.

Display

The Nexus has very sharp 5" inch full HD display. It has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with the pixel density of 445 ppi. 

The display uses in-cell touch Google's famous display technology, which means there is no gap between the display and the touch, which make the touch more accurate and responsive.

Processor and Ram

As we told you the Nexus 5 got top notch specs. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor is powering the device. The most fastest and latest processor from Qualcomm. It has 2GB of Ram.

Storage

The Nexus 5 comes with two storage options 16GB and 32GB. There is no micro-sd card slot for storage expansion because Google hates mico-sd card slots. Google prefers Cloud backup instead of micro-sd card.




Camera

The Google Nexus 5 comes with an 8mp (Mega Pixels) Camera with a single LED flash, same pixel size as the previous Nexus. But now the Camera is made by Sony, and it has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which prevent photos from getting burred and create great blur free photos.It features a HDR+ mode will enhance the camera performance even more. It also has an 1.3mp (Mega Pixels) Front facing Camera, which also capture videos in 720 HD. The front camera is enough for video chats.

Google has announced on Monday that it will be holding a press conference on October 29th which is Today. But before you get excited, we wanna let you know that the press conference is not about Nexus 5 nor Android 4.4 KitKat. The press conference is about Google's social network Google+.Google will reveal some new updates about to Google+. The press conference will begin at 9:30am PDST.


The Official Google+ page on Google's social network Google+ had some information about the press conference,which will also broadcast live on Google+. If you use Google+, headover to the sourcelink so you can RSVP to watch updates live. 

Google bring updates to Google+

Google has sent out invitations for an event on October 24th. While there are no clues for the unveiling of the Nexus 5. As the invitation shows the Google Play logo and says "Join us for a night out with Google Play. Music, movies games and a special performance by Capital Cities."

You might expect something big from Google.But the invitation night out with Google Play has nothing to do with the Nexus 5 or Android 4.4 KitKat.But it is 100% confirmed that Google is not gonna show any new hardware because a reliable source told us that the event it for educational purpose only.No new hardware will be introduced on October 24th.It means that nothing is gonna introduced on Google's October 24th event.

Google's Chief Executive (CEO) Larry Page was talking about the company's performance and he give a clue about smartwatches by mentioning them.

"People increasingly have more than one device," he said as he transitioned to speak about the new multi-screen world. "Screens are proliferating in the home as well as wearables screens like watches and Google Glass."

This shows that what the C.E.O think about smartwatches and they might be working on a Google's SmartWatch,which was leaked before that Google is working on GEM SmartWatch and Google could surprise all of us by releasing it along the Google Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat, But we can't say anything about when Google is gonna release it's Smartwatch.

According to the rumors the Official announcement date for Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat is set for October 28th but Google hasn't confirmed the date.

Larry Page also said this was his last appearance on a Google earnings call as CFO Patrick Pichette and CBO Nikesh Arora are taking over the task of handling calls.

He also appreciated the focus and velocity of teams and products.He said that the great sales of the Chromecast streamer and Motorola’s great transformation.

He also spoke about Android, he told how hesitant was Google about developing it and it is now the world's largest used operating system.

“When Android was still a skunkworks project, I used to feel kind of guilty visiting the team. We were a search company and building a new operating system wasn’t an obvious move to most people. Turns out that was a lot of misplaced guilt! Over 1 billion Android devices have now been activated worldwide -- and 1.5M devices are lit up every day.”
